Supporting parents with mental health issues and understanding the impact on their children

his conference addresses how services need to work on behalf of both parent and child in order to manage the impact on the child, whilst supporting the parent. A number of aspects will be considered: * emotional, physical and sociological impacts on children * how new parents are being supported through various initiatives * what family-sensitive services look like * the importance of joining up adult and children’s’ safeguarding and protection and some illustrative practical case studies * how to help children come to terms with their parent’s mental ill health and a consideration of some of the factors that can trigger problems.
