The effects of work related stress on employees and companies and the promotion of mental health at the workplace are widely discussed in science, politics and the public. Hence, the question remains how to motivate companies, especially small and medium sized ones (SME), to address these topics and improve working conditions to foster the mental health of employees. How specialized consulting activities could support SMEs in this issue is the central topic of a conference by G.I.B., the state institution for labour politics of the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia. Prof. Siegrist from Dusseldorf University, known for his "effort-reward imbalance model" of work related stress will give the introductory presentation. Results from different projects and the experiences of consultants, working with SME´s on stress and mental health issues, are also part of the agenda. The conference takes place on April 26th 2013 in Bottrop, Germany and is free of charge. Registration is required, conference language is German.
